Describe an occasion when you waited a long time for a nice thing.
You should say:
- When this happened
- What you waited for
- Where you were at
- And explain how you felt after that experience
Bài mẫu
Well when I was in my final year of college, my friend invited me to her wedding in Singapore and it was really a trip to remember. I waited half a year for it to come.
Actually my friend is much older than me. She was 32 while I was only 20 at that time, but there was a strong bond between us. We met on a community service trip where we traveled to remote areas in Vietnam and volunteered with the construction and teaching English at a school. We were in the same group so we had quite a lot of time chatting and helping each other. From the stories we shared, I could tell she is a kind, sweet and generous person who truly cares for others. That is something I always admire in people.
And before leaving Vietnam, she told me that she really wanted me to attend her wedding by the end of the year. I said I would plan for it and after the trip I started to work my fingers to the bone to save enough money. You know, earning when you are still a student is not that easy. I worked at a coffee shop near my house in the morning and did tutoring sessions at night. Also I tried not to spend money on unnecessary stuff. You know, a penny saved is a penny earned.
Then finally I could buy myself a round-trip to Singapore and to attend my friend’s wedding. The moment I got on the plane, I was thinking to myself that it’s just insane that I could finally make it this far. And the wedding was a blast. It was one of the good memories I hold on to.
