I think I’m gonna talk about when I was a high school student, because wearing a uniform is a must for all students in Vietnam, and of course, I wasn’t an exception. I actually had to wear uniforms every day back then, but there was one particular day that I’ll always remember, and trust me, it was an embarrassing day.
If my memory serves, it happened when I was in grade 12. It was just a normal Thursday for everyone, but for me it was a big day, because it was when I decided to confess my feelings to my crush. I brought a very special gift that I made by myself and hid it in my bag, and, yeah, of course, I had to wear the uniform because it was still a school day. The typical student uniform in Vietnam back then included a white T-shirt and dark trousers. In the evening before that, I had already told her that I had something to tell her on that day. I intended to wait until recess when almost everyone was out of the class, and I would approach her, give her the gift, and tell her how I felt.
However, things didn’t really go according to plan. Right before recess, I went out of the class to wash my face, but suddenly I slipped and fell to the ground. My T-shirt got really dirty, and it even had a tear right in the chest. I was really embarrassed and afraid that my plan would be broken because of such an incident. But I still gave it a try anyway when the recess came. I approached my crush, apologized to her for my look, and gave her the gift. Fortunately, she happily received it and accepted to be my girlfriend. That lovely girl is now my wife.
That was the most memorable day in uniform for me.
