Bài mẫu 

More and more people are migrating to cities, leading to a decline in population in rural areas worldwide. While I acknowledge the benefits of this trend, the rural-to-urban migration can be an unwelcome development in the long run.

The rural-to-urban migration brings certain benefits to individuals and the urban economy. Urban areas have a higher concentration of industries and big corporations, thereby offering rural people access to a wider range of job opportunities, higher wages and promising career prospects. In addition, migrants to urban areas can also benefit from improved healthcare facilities, quality educational institutions and efficient public transportation systems in cities. These advantages facilitate an increased standard of living for rural people. From a broader perspective, more people moving to cities contribute to the diversity of human capital in urban areas, fostering innovation and increasing productivity in businesses. Therefore, the rural-to-urban migration can promote great economic growth in urban areas.

However, this trend is accompanied by the decline in rural population, causing both socio-economic challenges to rural communities in the long run. For one, the decline in rural population has detrimental effects on local economies. Rural areas heavily rely on agriculture and natural resource-based industries. When a significant portion of the population migrates to cities, the labour force available for these industries will decline, which potentially causes disruption of these industries and job loss for people. Moreover, migrants to urban areas are often the young generation seeking better opportunities, while the remaining rural population mainly consists of the elderly who are vulnerable to illness and children who are not of working age and in need of carers. This places increasing pressure on healthcare systems in rural areas and worsen the living standard of the remaining group.

In conclusion, although the trend of rural-to-urban migration is beneficial for individuals and urban economies, it causes significant social and economic disruption to rural communities in the long run.
